There are so many beautiful walks you can go on, both from the doorstep or just a short drive away, to take in the stunning Cotswold scenery that surrounds us here at Downhouse Farm. There are too many to pick from, but here are a few of our favourites. Copies of these can also be found in the welcome pack in the farmhouse on your arrival…

Other Local Walks

  • Korea Friendship Trail: Stinchcombe hill

    A beautiful 3.5 mile walk around the nearby Stinchcombe Hill, with some breathtaking views. So named as the Cotswold Way has teamed up with South Korea’s Jeju Olle Trail to become one of the world’s first ‘friendship trails'.

  • Dursley’s Lantern way

    Dursley's Lantern Way is a 14 mile circular trail visiting Dursley, Uley and Coaley, crossing farmland, woodland and country lanes. The name is taken from the Rev Kilvert's diary of 1873 who wrote of a local tradition of couples attending evening services during the winter where the gentlemen pulled out the tails of their shirts and walked before to show the way. These were called Dursley lanterns.

  • hills and hillforts - Cam longdown and uley

    This 4 mile walk follows some lovely sections of the Cotswold Way, including climbs up Uley Bury (an Iron Age hillfort) and Cam Long Down.

  • GATEWAY ROUTE - dURSLEY (Eastern Loop)

    An 8 mile walk taking in fields and woods, through the Uley Valley out to Owlpen Manor and across the wonderful viewpoints of Uley Bury and Cam Peak.

  • gateway route - dursley (western loop)

    An 8 mile walk taking you from the town of Dursley, up on to Stinchcombe Hill golf course, through fields and a nature reserve.
